Location: Kigali
Role Purpose
As a University Guidance Counsellor at Craydel, you will guide students and parents through the entire study abroad journey — from exploring options to securing admissions and visas.
This is not about “selling” universities. It’s about student-first guidance: helping each learner discover their best-fit universities, courses, and destinations, while ensuring transparency, affordability, and trust.
You will blend personalized counselling skills with Craydel’s cutting-edge AI tools and university intelligence to deliver life-changing outcomes for students.
🧩 Core Responsibilities
1. Student & Parent Counselling
• Conduct 1:1 counselling sessions with students and parents.
• Assess academic records, interests, goals, budgets, and destinations.
• Recommend suitable course and university shortlists (using Craydel’s AI tools + expertise).
• Guide parents on affordability, scholarships, and ROI.
2. Application Guidance
• Support students in completing applications (essays, SOPs, LORs, forms, document prep).
• Ensure applications meet university deadlines and requirements.
• Liaise with Craydel’s Application Desk for operational support.
3. Visa & Pre-Departure Support
• Advise students and families on visa requirements and processes.
• Conduct mock visa interviews and prep sessions.
• Support students with pre-departure readiness (cultural, financial, academic prep).
4. Relationship Management
• Build trust with students, parents, and school counsellors.
• Act as the Craydel brand ambassador inside schools and communities.
• Handle queries with empathy and transparency.
5. Data & Reporting
• Maintain accurate student records in Craydel’s CRM.
• Track conversion funnel (lead → app → offer → deposit → enrolment).
• Share insights on student trends and challenges with the team.
📊 KPIs & Success Metrics
• Applications Submitted: Target number per month, quarter & year.
• Offer Conversion Rate: ≥95% of applications yielding offers.
• Application-Deposits Conversion Rate: ≥70% (aligned with Craydel benchmarks).
• Parent/Student Satisfaction (NPS): ≥60.
• Retention: Students stay with Craydel through the full cycle & refer other students.
👤 Ideal Candidate Profile
Background
• 1–3 years’ experience in student counselling, admissions advising, or career guidance.
• Prior experience with study abroad agencies, international schools, or EdTech counselling preferred.
• Knowledge of major destinations (UK, US, Canada, Australia, Europe) and visa processes.
Skills
• Excellent communication & listening skills.
• Strong relationship-building with parents and students.
• Organized, deadline-driven, able to handle multiple student cases.
• Empathy + transparency (trusted advisor, not salesperson).
• Tech-friendly (comfortable using AI tools, dashboards, CRMs).
